NYC Contemptible; Caught in Lies about Protest Arrests
This New York Times article -- "City Arrest Tactics, Used on Protesters, Face Test in Court" -- got moved from the front page to the "New York Region" during tha last hour; but I think it has national and indeed international importance.
Among other things, the City is facing contempt charges for its failure to follow s judge's order to allow lawyers access to their clients.
Prosecutors tried to point the fickle finger of blame toward the State, claiming that there were delays of 5-6 hours in providing finger print reports -- not that that would have justified the 2-day delays anyway of course. The state promptly provided a computer report showing that only ONE of 3,620 reports took as long as five hours. Shocking how the City and State failed to consipire to get their stories straight!
Can't wait to see how this one plays out!
