( 10:35 AM ) Jackie
I've just finished five days of on the Lemonade Cleanse. ( I didn't use the product being sold on the site referenced -- just the lemonade).
What that means is that for five days all I "ate" was a lemonade made of organic lemons, filetered water, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. And I used a "salt water flush" several times. Added to this was lots of water and some herbal tea.
Most of the time I felt quite good and energetic. Frequently, especially on the days when I used the salt water flush, I had chills and I did sleep more than my usual 6 or 7 hours I sweated a lot.
During this time I did all my normal activities, including going to the gym twice. I wasn't hungry really but had "mouth hunger" a lot, really wanted to taste something other than lemon. By the last day, Sunday, I didn't even finish out the required amount of the lemonade. I noticed that I would crave certain foods at times but those cravings didn't last. I was also aware of the times that I felt like eating or automatically started to pick up something to eat because I was frustrated with something or feelling anxious. Not totally new information, but a different way of experiencing it. Those feelings also passed quickly.
Mentally I had an odd combination of clarity of thought and spaciness. I might have trouble concentrating at some times. At others I was fine. Some of the web site I looked at before doing this said that people using this system might experience emotional upheavals but I felt pretty even.
I did this just a few days after returning from my trip to Maui and I think it might have been better to wait a few more days because I was a little disoriented from the change and from jet lag. But it was all in alll a good experience and I'm looking forward to good effects, hopefully including on my knee joints which have been complaining a bit
